PHIL'S REVIEW - What a blessing this installation turned out to be!
I must be honest here that when I received the package, I didn't hold much
hope. FedEx had beaten the box to death and it did not look
promising. I called the manufacturer and they assured me that if
there was a problem with the product then they would immediately ship me
another. That was reassuring. To my pleasurable surprise, when
I opened the beaten package, the oval step bars were in perfect condition.
I installed the first oval tube on my 2005 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab 1500
on the drivers side in about 30 minutes. The passenger side went on
in 20 minutes because I knew what I was doing. I only needed my
socket set with a 1/2" drive and a drive extension. I had to take
out the three body mount bolts on each side. That was easy.
The only trick to know here is that when you put the bolt back up thru the
bracket, make sure you remember to put the bushing on top of the bracket
between the bracket and the truck. The instructions make that very
clear and they were very easy to follow. Once I tightened the bolts
I stood on the bars and there was very minimal give. They feel very
sturdy and currently I weigh 228 pounds. I would certainly recommend
this product to the do-it-yourselfer for their ease of installation and
product quality. DESCRIPTION - 304
Stainless Steel Tube compressed into a four inch oval and polished to a
mirror finish. One long injection molded plastic step pad is clipped
in to a compressed area on the tube. The single step area replicates
the newest OEM looks from GM, Ford, Dodge and Toyota. Each oval tube
is straight with durable plastic end caps on each end. What you
get - The oval tube steps, brackets
and mounting hardware are included and weigh about 50 lbs.

INSTALLATION - for all applications
does NOT require any drilling. Heavy gauge carbon steel brackets
with a powder coat finish are bolted to the body mounts using the factory
body mount bolts. This product can be installed in under one hour
with only a standard socket set. |
