PHIL'S REVIEW - The first thing that I noticed about the factory style
running boards that I received to review was the excellent quality of the
packaging. The box had been shipped via FedEx Ground and still
looked like it was just pulled off the shelf. I have received many
packages recently and most of them have looked like they were on their
third shipment. Sure enough when I opened the box the running boards
and bracket kit were snug and it great shape. The most impressive
thing that I found with this set of running boards was the instruction
sheet which included a description of the parts included, a word
description of the installation, and six color photos of how the brackets
mounted. I mounted this set on a Toyota Tundra Double Cab and I
literally bolted on each side in about 18 minutes each. This is the
unlighted set but I understand there are two different light options if
you were interested. DESCRIPTION -
Polyethylene plastic is vacuum formed on a high temperature aluminum mold
to produce a top quality product. Several studs protruding from the
bottom of the running board fit through slots in the aluminum sub frame
and it is permanently locked in place. The top surface is black with
a slight texture and very durable. Highly resistant to scratches and
dings unlike ABS plastic which scratches easily. Several lengths are
available depending on what vehicle you have including 72", 80" and 91".
Several sets of ridges in the top provide tracking and prevent water
buildup. The pair of factory style running boards with brackets
weighs about 40 lbs.

pickup is available at our warehouse in Hernando, FL.
INSTALLATION - Installation
will differ depending on what vehicle you have. Every part comes
with custom brackets designed specifically for that vehicle. All
parts come with galvanized steel brackets that mount to the body not the
frame. GM, Ford and Dodge will not warranty an aftermarket part
attached to the frame that also touches the body. Most applications
bolt right on needing only a socket set. These include the
Avalanche, Suburban, Tahoe, TrailBlazer, Envoy, Sequoia, Durango and many
more. Others require some drilling but all have good color
instructions with pictures. |
