| PHIL'S REVIEW - The Platinum Running Boards get my highest rating. Call it 5 stars, 10 stars, 100 stars, call it whatever you want. Here is the skinny. There are 4 styles to choose from. Black or Silver and Lighted or Unlighted. All Platinum Running Boards come with custom mounting brackets and the lighted running boards come with generic lighting instructions, but the phone tech support is very helpful if you need some help. Let me first start with the heavy duty packaging. I stood on the 12"x9"x80" box when it arrived to use it as a stepping stool and it didn't flinch. The running boards were packed so well that I wouldn't have been able to repackage them if I had to. They must weigh around 40lbs a set and they are extremely sturdy. The boards themselves are every bit as sturdy and strong as a stainless steel tube nerf bar. Each running board is rated to hold 600 lbs. The black plastic injection molded step pad is first class. You can see a picture below and is has several ridges which prevent water from freezing on the top surface and are great at getting mud and dirt off. The step pad has a lip hanging over the edge to prevent any wear on the corner of the running board. Most running boards do not offer that feature. Did I mention how sturdy these were? The molded end caps have a nice shape that offers some protection against mud and debris coming from the front tire. The lights are at a very good angle to illuminate the step area. WARRANTY - Lifetime on materials and workmanship. Bulbs for the lighted version are standard and can be purchased from any hardware store or auto parts store such as Pep Boys or Discount Auto for about $1.50 each.
DESCRIPTION - T-6 Aircraft grade aluminum extruded with a powder coat finish. Extremely rigid cross section. End Caps and step area are injection molded pieces that snap into place and are secured with 3M sealer for a lifetime of worry free usage. Brackets are 11 gauge and mount to the factory holes when available. Some applications may require drilling, but most applications are bolt on.

The Total Price is exactly what you see above. FL Sales Tax is only added if we are shipping this product to a Florida address. The tax rate that we charge is 7%. Our 3" stainless step bars are stocked in several locations for quick delivery. Local pickup is available at our warehouse in Hernando, FL.
INSTALLATION - Installation will differ depending on what vehicle you have. Every part comes with custom brackets designed specifically for that vehicle. All applications are bolt on with no drilling. Almost all running boards mount the same. You can click step ujp products, then molded running boards, then applications, then find your vehicle and view the instructions in a .pdf format. Of course these are not Westin, but the brackets are generally the same. |
