Ford designed its F150 for 2004 by giving it a new look and a new rack and pinion steering. For 2008, the Ford F150 has changed little beyond the addition of options and packages. The fullsize Ford F150 Truck competes with the Chevrolet Silverado, Dodge Ram and Toyota Tundra pickups.

The Ford F150 trims inclued the XL, the STX, XLT, FX4 and Lariat. Each of Ford's trims offer three engine choices, a 4.2-liter V6, 4.6-liter V8 and 5.4-liter V8 which has an available flexible fuel variant able to operate on ethanol (E85). The 4.2-liter V6 can be a 5 speed manual or a 4 speed auto transmission. When properly equipped the Ford F150 can accommodate up to six passengers and can tow 11,000 pounds.

The 2008 Ford F150 gets a Super Crew XL trim offers an optional reverse backup camera.
